Boo Hoo and Woo Hoo

The End of Summer, Boo Hoo.
This summer has gone bye way to fast. Soon it will be really cold, snowie and miserable for this family who loves the summer and warmth. This ,of course, is another catch up post. I just can't seem to be ahead of my blogging, so here we go.

The end of summer started with Chris giving Dane a before school Mohawk while I was at work one night. At first I did not like it at all and was pretty upset with Chris, who informed me, "he was keeping this Mohawk for 2 weeks until school started". Then it grew on me and I really liked it. We went into Dane's school for his kindergarten assessment a week before school started and his teacher was kinda rude about his hair and "asked me to make sure the principal was aware of his extreme hairstyle". This kinda ticked me off. So we went to the principal, who was very nice about it, and pretty much just said "they don't like extreme haircuts at school". It still bugged me but she did not say I had to cut it or he would be sent home. Which is good because I was ready to go off on her and the lame rules if she did. This is elementary school not BYU. Okay enough of that rant.

And talk about a really sad haircut, Maggie cut Coopers hair to the scalp in about 5 different spots so we had no choice but to buzz his head. This still makes me really sad even though it has been growing out for 3 weeks now. But isn't this picture so sad? I mean Cooper's hair, so sad.
Here are some pictures of our last swimming adventure to the Helaman Halls pool for the summer.
Our kids have no fear when it comes to the diving board. Cooper will jump off all day if we would let him, the same with Maggie. Dane not so much.

The Beginning of School, Woo Hoo.

So Maggie started preschool this year a couple of days before Dane started kindergarten. Maggie loved it and Dane was really bummed but eventually he had his first day of school, too. Maggie gets to go to school with Zoe (spencer and kari's) and Travis a friend from church. Maggie told me that "Zoe is her new best friend, not Cooper anymore". Here are some pictures of the first week of school.

Before School:

After School:This was the first and last day I got to pick Dane up from school. Dane informed me "he was riding the bus from now on with Coy, to and from school." Coy is a friend of Danes from church who is in his class and they now get to ride the bus everyday together. I was not cool with the bus thing at first, being someone who never rode the bus or walked to school (yes my mommy took me to school everyday), but I think this will be a good experience for me and Dane. Dane is getting off the bus for the first time after school and Coy is in the blue jacket. He loves the bus.

Dane also started soccer this week and is really excited. His friend David that lives next door to us is on his team. Here is a picture of his first soccer game. I don't know who won because for some lame reason they don't keep score for this age group. Yes, I am super competitive so , yes, that is probably why they don't keep score. Maggie also started ballet again this week and loves it so much. I keep forgetting my camera, I will remember some day.

Here is a couple of pictures of Cooper on Maggie's 2nd day and Dane's 1st day of school. We thought he was feeling left out so we purchased some new "school shoes" for Cooper, too. He loves them and loves the 3 hour block twice a week that is it just Cooper and Mom. I love it, too. Alright, that gets us caught up to Labor Day weekend. I promise to blog about that soon. Hope everyone is doing great and can't wait to see everyone soon.

I was about to throw down with you when I saw Cooper's hair was cut, it is a good thing that it was Maggie, cause I would have taken you down, uh...probably not, you would have taken me down. I love Dane's hair in the mohawk, I wish you would have let him go to school with it.

Cute post, love the pics and stories. I hear that Sheri has already been in to see the principal at her kid's school too. I guess going to the principal doesn't stop once you finish school.
