I have to start by telling you how much freakin' fun I had last Saturday running the
Hobble Creek Half Marathon. It was a blast. I enjoyed so much the scenery and perfect weather, Oh my Gosh, it was a beautiful day. My goal was to 1st just finish the race, it being my 1st half marathon, and 2nd getting in under 3 hours. At 7 miles I was 15 minutes ahead of my training pace of 12 minute miles. At 10 miles I was 13 minutes ahead of my training pace and realized that I can finish this race in under 2 1/2 hours. So I just stayed on the pace I was running and felt great. Then mile 13 came and I died. My legs would not move for me at all. After checking my watch, I figured I had 18 minutes to finish the last mile and keep it under 2 1/2 hours. I took almost all of those minutes my legs were dead. I walked a little and ran a little, walked again, ran again and so on. I finished in 2 hours 26 minutes 32 seconds.
Here I am trying to finish mile 13. I was so tired and everything was tightening up.

To sum it up, I finished about 34 minutes faster than my 3 hour goal, about 10 minutes faster than my training pace of 12 minute miles and last but not least 3 1/2 minutes faster than my 10 mile goal of 2 1/2 hours. I am loving life.
Here I am after the race. Maggie looks like she had fun, man what a face.

Way to go, I don't think I could make it running around the block. When I saw the title of your post with the word BABY with an exclamation mark my first thought was that you were expecting...hehe.
OK, so the word BABY freaked me out, too! I had to reread the header and then start reading the post before I settled down a little bit! Am I high-strung, or what?
Great job, Jaime. That is amazing. Very inspirational . . .
Okay, I tweeked the title a little. Man you guys are crazy. I am not planning to ever have anymore children.
Way to go Jamie! You're awesome. Too bad Maggie apparently doesn't agree in the last picture. She looks pretty terbed. You on the other hand look great!
