I am finally posting our Oklahoma/Texas Family Trip. This summer so far has just flown bye. I can't believe July is already knocking at our door.
We started our trip off on Friday, May 23 at noon. We drove from Springville to Aurora, CO (just on the other side of Denver) to spend the night. Here our some starting out pictures.

Here is a picture of the sky as we were just getting to our hotel that night. Creepy, huh!

Saturday, May 24: The skies still looked like this when we headed out the next morning. We found out later that night ,when we got to Oklahoma, that there was a tornado in Aurora only a couple of hours after we left.
Here is a picture of Cooper at our potty break in Kansas. He was just happy to get out of the car.

About 9 hours after the start of our day we reached the Oklahoma border. Yeah!

We still had another 3 hours until we reached our final destination of Checotah, OK where my parents reside for the time being. It was a long day but we made it.
Sunday, May 25th: We totally played hookie from church. After 8 hours one day and 12 the next none of us wanted to get in the car and drive 45 min to get to my parents chapel. Let alone another 45 min drive home after. So, yes, we ditched. My sister and her family drove up from Dallas for the weekend which was a great surprise. Dallas is only about 3 hours away so we were happy they made the trip up to see us.
We celebrated Memorial Day on Sunday so that we could all be together. My sister and her family had to head back early Monday to get ready for work and school. We had a yummy BBQ dinner with all the good stuff like watermelon, pinappple, hamburgers, hotdogs, brats and so much more. It was fabulous. Some of the activities included:
Looking for snakes in my Dad's old el camino he plans to restore.

Shooting a gun with Uncle Jacob. I must admit I was not totally okay with this.

Swimming in a blow up pool with all of the cousins.

Except Cooper he decided to watch, then swim all by himself when everyone else was done.

Celebrated Kaci's 4th Birthday with a princess themed cake. Got to have a princess for your 4th Birthday.

We finished the day with a trip to the playground by Lake Eufala. What a day.

Tuesday, May 27th-Thursday, May 29th: We headed up to Tulsa to visit with Chris' sister Sheri and her family. Getting ready to head to Tulsa.

We had a blast just playing outside the whole time and catching up with everyone. Thanks for having us Sheri. Here are some pictures of the kids just hanging out and having fun.

We headed back to my folks house on Thursday afternoon and stayed with them until Saturday morning. We had a blast and wish we could of stayed longer. The good news is it won't be another year before I see them again. They are going to head our way for Thanksgiving and the birth of our 4th kid. Love ya MOM and DAD.

Family Vacation 2009: Our Last 2500 Miles to come soon. Check back later.

That looks like a fun trip! Welcome back!!
Oh my goodness, you are an amazing woman to survive that. Everytime I go on a trip with the kiddos I wonder how I'm going to survive.
Looks like your children know how to handle a gun now...what? that's crazy!
ok, so Cooper just keeps winning me over again and again. his smile... and that curly hair just makes me want to die. I'm in love.
