Square Foot Gardening

Okay, so today I took the plunge. I must admit I am really nervous to be starting a family garden for the first time ever. I am not usually very good at keeping plants alive let alone starting one from scratch. I used the Heirloom seeds Marisa gave me last year. Megan said they should still be okay because they were stored in a dark, cool place. I hope so? So if they don't grow it could be that I ruined the seeds over the past year or I just can't grow anything. I told Chris not to worry about making my box for the deck until something starts growing. Here are some pictures of the starter greenhouse. I must admit I am so glad they make things like this for beginners and how cool is it that you plant the individual squares in the soil! They totally disintegrate. I know everyone else probably already knew about these but I was super excited to find out about them. Here they will stay until something starts growing. I hope something starts growing? Wish me luck.

You're brave. I'm going to start gardening for my first time this summer but I think I'm going to start out with plants. Seeds are too intimidating to me!

It looks great! I can't wait to see how it comes. I really wouldn't worry about the seeds - they'll be fine. Let me know how it comes - I'm jealous but with the baby coming I know I won't really be able to tend to the garden - plus we're moving...so I'll just have to live through you this year!

I can't believe how much Stacy's little boy looks like your son!

Good luck with gardening. We are still under piles of snow! I don't know when we will see the grass again, let alone see my flowers come up or plant a garden...

Good luck with your garden. We will check back to see your success...
