Ely, Nevada and the 4th of July

So every 4th of July Chris' family heads out to Ely, Nevada the most boring place in the whole world, but for some reason they all love it. Chris' parents are both from Ely and a lot of their family still lives there. Ely has changed a lot since his parents grew up there. It was a booming railroad and silver mine town 50-60 years ago and now there in not really anything there. After much persistence by Chris I decided after a 2 year brake from Ely we would venture out there again. Here is a picture of Shelly, Samantha, Dane, Me and Maggie waiting for our table at The Brick Oven. This was Wed. night before we headed to Ely. Shelly went to BYU when the Brick Oven was a big deal, so when she comes to town for the 4th we have to head on down for some pizza and rootbeer.
So in Ely we pretty much just hang out, go to the park...
Learn the waltz and alley cats dance moves from Chris' grandma "Nana"... Go down to StepToe Drug and get yummy lime rickeys like 3 times a day... Go to the Parade and see stuff like this... Then right after the parade everyone heads down to the high school ball field for "Kid Races and Quarter Toss"... Here we are waiting for the races to begin. Go Dane Go!!!Here is just a funny picture of Cooper at Lehman Caves on our way home from Ely... So much attitude already. The last picture from our trip sums it all up...We were exhausted but did have more fun than usual. It was agood family trip and 4th of July.

Was there a family reunion? About 14 years ago I got to go to the Jensen Family Reunion in Ely, everyone kept asking me if I was Shelly or Sheri. Man, that was fun!!!
