Anxiously Awaiting Baby Craft Projects

So the last 4 weeks are really hard for me. I have a really hard time with patience to begin with and awaiting a baby is the ultimate lesson for me. So to keep myself occupied I decided to make some baby items instead of buying them. The biggest project was the crib bumper. We purchased a mini crib instead of a full size crib. They are the same dimensions of a porta crib but solid wood and not a porta crib. I was having a really hard time finding mini/porta crib bedding that was normal and not incredible expensive. Take it for me there is nothing out there. So I decided to make my own. Here is a picture. I still need to add the ribbon ties to it but other than that it is done. The hardest part was the cotton piping for the binding. Man, that took me forever. I think worth the effort, though. My mom makes a baby quilt for all of my kids and these are the same exact colors that Baby Tuck's quilt is made of. Gotta love CornWagon's quilt fabrics.

My next project was burp cloths. I saw some really cute ones on Etsy that were anywhere from $5 to $8 bucks a piece. I thought to myself, "I can totally make those for way cheaper with way cutier fabrics". So I headed down to my trusty CornWagon ,again, and purchased some super cute fat quarters. I did have a hard time finding really good cloth diapers(burp cloths) for some reason. The trusty Gerber cloth diapers are crap now. They are only 3 ply and have no absorbancy. So I went online found out they make 6 ply premiun cloth diapers. The only problem after that was finding someone who sold them. So many baby stores claimed to carry them and just didn't. After a ton of searching, Burlington's Baby Depot was the only place that carried them. Great deal too if anyone is wanting some cute burp cloths. Anyways, here is a picture of the burp cloths I made.I have to say I am pretty proud of myself and now need something else to do for the next 3 1/2 weeks. If anyone wants some cute burp cloths let me know. I am willing to make some for ya. Just let me know girl or boy. Materials cost $3 bucks per burp cloth. Or just bring me some burp cloths and fabric and I will be willing to make them or help you make them yourselves. Man, the countdown is on.

Those burp rags are too cute to be having baby throw up on them, and great job on the bumper.

So with the mini crib, does the baby grow out of it pretty fast or could they still sleep in it until they're around two?

They can totally sleep in it until they are two. I bought mine at walmart.com. We got the baby mod brand, just heard it was better. You should check it out they are pretty cool. They are really popular among college kids with no room and people that live in small apartments like in New York. Great space saver.

That fabic is so cute. I love it! You are good at sewing. I'm going to try to make some minor alterations to a dress and I'm wishing I had someone here to help me not butcher it. We need to get ourselves closer together to our families. We are still looking in Texas for jobs. You guys need to too.

That bumper is totally cute - you need to start marketing those! I can't wait to see the next beautiful child you bring into this world!
